Default 1998 S90 disaster?

So I just moved from Virginia to Dallas towing my 98 S90 on a dolly behind the uhaul. Can you guess what I did wrong?

That's right, I didn't think to disconnect the driveshaft. I towed the thing 1500 miles without realizing I was hurting anything...

Please ignore my ignorance and lend me some advice.

I'm assuming that I wrecked my transmission right? It currently does just fine in the reverse and low gears, but must rev to 4,000 rpms before shifting to go forward in drive and the third gear (3). Do you all think that I can do anything to fix this? Or will I need to have my transmission rebuilt? Also, is it possible to just have the drive gear replaced without fixing any other part of the transmission?
Thanks a ton for any and all advice!!!!

Sorry to hear that. Not sure what you can do.

A tranny rebuild is a tranny rebuild. Not just part of it. Kinda like having the head rebuilt. The only right way to do it is to send it to the machine shop and let them do the valves and all.
