blower (?) problems with S90
I have a 1998 S90 with the electronic climate control. The compressor was replaced last summer, so that should be good and it's topped off with freon. When I turn on the A/C, crank up the fan to 5, set the selector for vent, I can hear the fan working overtime, I can feel a trickle of cold air coming out of the vents, but nothing happens. Eventually after driving for a while, I can hear this "whoosh" sound and all of the sudden air is coming out of the vents quickly, it's cold. Intermittently it will just stop blowing out again, though the whole time i can hear the fan working. Any thoughts?

thanks for the fast response! where in the dash is this controller by the way? I have a chilton manual for this car but I haven't been able to find any reference to it. Admittedly, probably my fault for looking in the wrong place, I seem to have a hard time finding stuff in this book. Regarding vacuum, how would I check for a bad diaphragm? Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I'm really new to all of this stuff.

To get to the controller you will have to remove the glovebox insert and the lower dash with the metal knee bolster. Then it will be mounted to the front of the climate box with a bunch of hoses going to it. It also has a plug on it. sometimes the electrical part needs to be resoldered.
To check the diaphram you would need a vaccum pump.

Thanks again for responding! I took the panel off and started going through the wires. I found that by wiggling the green harness with 20 pins that connects to a mysterious metal box I can make the air come out. If I move it a different way,air stops coming out. So definitely seems like a short in this connector. So What is the best course of action? I could remove the parts in question and hard wire it in there, splice it up all nice and ugly, but obviously it would be nicer to replace the green connector. Are these easily found? Either way, it looks like the solution to my problem is going to be hopefully cheap.
Thanks again,

Thanks for the suggestion. I removed the screws holding that metal-box-o-mystery, saw the pcb underneath redid the connection points for the green connector and, as you said, it is fine now. I can wiggle all I want and it now continues to work. $0.00 repair! If you ever find yourself in nashville area, I owe you a beer!
Thanks for all your help and patience!
