Hello Big World! Can someone tell if the motor mounts on my S90 go bad, are they hydraulic. 127K miles. While inspecting the car during a recent transmission ATF change I notice that the clearance between the oil sump and main frame cross member was very close 1/4", is this normal? There is a rubber pad under there. Thanks in advance.

 

Can you post a pic of what you are talking about? I can measure mine but that's no guarentee that mine is not bad as well.

 

2 signs of the mounts being bad is.
1. There is a rusty or dark stain on the frame under where the mounts are.
2. The oil pan is sitting on the rubber strip on the crossmember.

Actually I have seen one more thing. I have seen the mounts get like really hard as well and when you try to rock the motor with your hand it does not move.
