alright i would like to get to the bottom of this once and for all!

for a couple of years, the s90 has been having trouble starting after its sat for a couple hours. in the morning, it almost always takes 2-3 times to start. alot of times it catches, tach bounces around below 300 rpm, sounds almost as if its running on 1 cylinder, then dies.

our mechanic says he is never able to recreate the problem.

anyone know where to start? (pun not intended)

also has anyone ever replaced a starter in these cars? is it easy? step by step diy instructions?

Maybe the fuel pressure regulator??? Sounds like the pressure bleeds off while it sits for a little while.

I think you can use a pressure guage. Go to an auto parts store and tell them you'd like to test your fuel pressure. They should direct you from there. Not sure how to hook it up but once you figure it out, check the car after you turn it off, then check it a day later. It should not bleed off.
