Power seat does not have full range of travel
1998 S90 driver side power seat works fine except it does not adjust for maximum length (all motors run and seat moves back and forth on both tracks). It appears that it should go back another 1-2 inches. I have taken the seat out and made sure that there were no physical obstructions in the tracks. Motors and cables seem fine.
Any ideas?

Power seat limited travel problem solved
Thanks RSPI.
I removed the seat, disconnected the 2 cables from the drive motors and used a cordless drill to drive the cables to move the seat to the rearmost position on both tracks. I hit a dead spot on one side where the gear and cable seemed not to engage. I switched the cable end-for-end and used a hammer to coax the track along past the dead spot which worked well with little effort. Seat is back in car and working fine now. (Took about 3 hours from start to finish including 30 minutes to think up using a drill to drive the gear cables.)
(This procedure probably cannot be accomplished with the seat in the car as it would be difficult to drive both cables simultaneously with 2 cordless drills--you might be able to drive one side with a drill while using the seat motor to drive the other side, this may require testing both sides to see which one is locking up. Still might be easier to remove the seat and drive the cables separately with a cordless drill.)
