Default Radio won't work after battery replacement.

So my battery died on my 97 S90 and I replaced it, but now the radio won't work and it's asking for a code. I take it this is an anti-theft mechanism, but how do you find out what the code is? Do you have to call the dealership and give them your VIN (like GM makes you) or something else?

Look in your owners manual packet. Sometimes it's in there on a credit card sized card. If not you'll have to go the dealer route. Some dealers make you bring the car to the lot to make sure you own it and it's not stolen.

You can call any stealer (usually the nearest) with your cars vin and they will give you the code. Sometimes they ask that you provide proof of ownership like a registration to give the code to you.

If you are looking for radio code battery, best viewed upside down in the packet radio. Sometimes it is there in a credit card sized card. If not, will have to follow the route of distribution, some dealers put the car in the lot to make sure it is clean and not stolen.

Default 2001 Volvo s60

Hello,

I replaced my battery and now my stereo and the heater/ac stopped working. I got the sunroof to work again by resetting the computer by turning the key in the door 5x. FML...lol.... What can I do for the stereo and the heater?

you may get more views and comments if you don't post your issue on a nine year old thread. Also it helps if you post your new thread on the model specific board to get some experts on your model. Did you check fuses? See the owners manual for the various locations of the fuse panels if you don't see something that maps to your HVAC. (ps you can google for an online version of the owners manual - Volvo publishes for free)
