Hoping someone here could post some diagrams or instructions on replacing door card (aka carrier) as well as side window replacement.

Thanks to youtube the outer panel was quite easy to remove. The door tabs were cracked/broken from previous ownership and would like to replace them to eliminate a rattle. Which would involve detaching the window regulator motor on the dry side with the window behind it.

Part of my project was also to access behind this door card so that I could embark on additional sound insulation (dynamat & dynaliner) behind it.

I also came across a parts site selling improved sound insulated "laminated" windows for a reasonable price. I remember this was an expensive option. Since I'm already nearly there, I might as well upgrade my side windows too.

Any help would be appreciated.

Volvo has used the same design of inner door stuff (handle, window regulator, window glass, inner door latch) since about 2008. So removal instructions are available in detail in the free download of VIDA that is easily found. (swedespeed has a copy for download) That Version of VIDA only gives instructions through 2015 - but the design is the same. Alternatively, you could purchase a VIDA subscription for Volvotechinfo.com and get the information for your 2016,7,8,9,20)

You start by removing the outer door handle, the window glass, loosen or remove any and all bolts you can find, and then the entire assembly pulls out as one piece -

Had a look at volvotechinfo. Not so easy if outside the USA to signup and pay by credit card, which authenticates to credit card address

Actually I still have my 2008 Volvo S80 and major differences I remembered were
- door panel clipped to the door (on S/V90 they hang off the door card as well)
- window regulator was on the wet side and not attached to door card
