Start/Stop Mode
I don't care for the hesitation when in the Start/Stop mode. But no matter what I try it always goes back to this mode. Is there a way to disable this feature? I know you turn it off, but it keeps coming back on when I start the car.
My 2020 V90 allows me to go into settings and shut off stop/start. However, I don't believe this feature was installed on prior model years, but I'm not sure exactly when. If you go to settings and don't find start/start on/off, then you don't have that capability.
I think it depends on your model year. With my 2020 V90, when the start/stop is shut off, it stays off. In prior model years, I believe it didn't stay off permanently. Check your car's specific owners manual for clarification.
What model year is your car? Again, my understanding is that, at some point, Volvo changed the stop/start function so that you could permanently disable it. I believe this may started with the 2019 model year. Prior to this, one could only temporarily disable the stop/start function. Once the engine was turned off, and then turned on, the stop/start function re-engages. As I mentioned to OP, he should check his car's owner manual to verify how stop/start works for his car.
I set the profile to have it off but it still defaults to turning back on. I’ve got used to it now and it doesn’t bother me anymore. I found that it doesn’t due it in dynamic mode, but I rarely lay do that.
I find the start/stop works well at long lights. However, when I see I will be stopped for 30 seconds or less, I flick the transmission **** left to manual, and then back to automatic. This prevents the start/stop feature from working at the next stop.
