Default Sunroof Will Not Open

The sunroof on my 1997 S90 will not open. WHen it tilts up, it looks like the plastic lift rails are broken. Anyone replaced these before? It it an easy repair?

It's not all that bad. When you get the parts let me know and I will help you through it.

Default plastic rails

I replaced the plastic rails 4 times, 3 under warranty the last one I had to pay for. When they broke again I was told by mechanic to just remove them. I use the moon roof several times a week so maybe they just wear out. I think they are just a poor design.

Anyway, I had them removed over 5 yrs ago and it works fine without them.

Default I think I have the same issue

Yesterday, i opened the vent or rear of the sunroof, when it was time to close it I heard breaking plastic, and few thin pieces of plastic track came down. I did manage to close the roof but had to delicatly close it. Now it will reopen for vent, but will not slide back to open the entire sunroof. I also now have a wind noise as it will not stop at its correct spot but can gently tap the button to get it close. Any iny on this would be helpful, how does one correct a broken track.

You have to replace the select gates. That is where the plastic broke from.

You should be able to handle it yourself.
