Default Unusual brake feel - bounce

We just purchased another S90 and the brakes have a slightly funny feel, the pedal does a little "bounce" back after application. The brake feel with the engine not running is fairly firm, like the S90 we purchased new, so I'm not sure this is a issue with air in the lines. Has anyone else seen this and do you know what the fix is? I'd like to start in the right area rather than just pull the entire brake system / vac booster apart?

When looking at used S90s, I did note several cars with a similar problem, all much worse than the one we purchased.

If you have not done so already, I'd change the brake fluid as outlined in the manual. It should show the bleeding order. If you need me to, let me know and I'll look it up for you.

Thanks for the input, absent any other ideas that was high on my list. The prior owner stated the brakes had recently been "redone" and as far as pads and rotor condition that was a true statement. I have been very careful about periodic replacement of the brake fluid on the S90 we purchased new and had never seen this issue.

Default Further Update

The prior owner (a deceased Grandmother) of our "new" S90 and/or her mechanic obviously did not believe in doing anything unless it was truly broken!

Flushing the brake fluid did fix the brake "bounce" feel, by color it was very probably the same fluid Volvo put into the car in 1997. The hoses, belts, bushings, etc. were all in the same state, so I've been doing 15 years of deferred maintenance over the last few weeks. However, the car is now starting to behave like a low mileage S90 should.
