When pushing trunk button on key fob the tailgate catch releases but the tailgate stays closed. Same when using foot signal under fender. Opens no problem when using tailgate catch. Tried holding close button for a few seconds until it beeps 3 times but fault not cleared. Any ideas?

 

Had the same problem. Changed the key fob battery. No problem thereafter. Key fob battery lasts approx. 2 years, from the date the battery was installed in the key fob, which can before the date the car was manufactured or put in service.
