Volvo On-Call Phone App not working
Hi. On 7/6, when I tried opening the On-Call app on my phone, all I got was a grayed-out Volvo symbol. I called Volvo On-Call today (7/8). They instructed me to uninstall the app from my phone, then re-install it, while they were on the line walking me through this. It didn't fix anything. Still can't long into Volvo On-Call. The rep said that "some" Volvo customers are having this issue and that Volvo is "working on it". She couldn't give me any specifics, nor tell me when the problem might be fixed. All she offered was to try to sign in periodically.
From what I can deduce, the problem lies with Volvo's on-call application itself, and doesn't necessarily have to do with your phone or your phone's network service. Frustrating.

On my own, I went back to my car and switched the car's internet connection from the interior modem to my cell phone's internet connection, via bluetooth. At that point, I was able to successfully have the on-call app successfully communicate with my car. From there, I switched off the car's internet connection via my to the car's own modem ... and then ran the on-call app from my phone to the car. Either it was a coincidence that the shutting off and re-opening the car's modem helped alleviate the on-call connection problem or there's something wrong with on-call app and this action helped to reset it.
I saw, in the Swedespeed forum, that this on-call app connection issue is an on-again/off-again problem, for some.

It's a backend bug, but also exposed an improvement that can be made in VOC. We're working on it.

It's not that. The authentication token becomes invalid and the app gets stuck trying to login and will fail. Ironically, if you could just "sign out" it would work. The un-install re-install forces a new authentication request and then a new token.

Just received a 2022 Volvo recharge and having problems with the App as well. It will not synch to phone. Google synched fine but cannot get past the pairing process. Dealership said Volvo is aware of this? Everything else is working OK.
