2000 V40 1.9t codes
I just bought a 2000 V40 1.9t with the dreaded 0014 and 0015 codes and a cylinder 4 misfire. I have read a lot of the threads with these code issues and have done what was recommended, sea foamed the engine and replaced the oil with mobil 1 0w40 oil. The code still persists, also along with that while driving and accelerating hard when it hits 4000 rpm it just falls on its face and the "check engine" light starts to blink. When driving with out accelerating hard it drives just fine. Any pointers would be helpful.
Take a look on the S40 board - there's a few detailed posts discussing the issues with the VVT that can cause the 14/15 codes. The problem is that the VVT can't control the exhaust cam timing so the position sensor throws a code and with the valve timing a bit off, you'll feel some loss of performance at some points in the RPM range. Use the search feature to search on "P0014" or "P0015" in the S40 board :=)
