2000 Volvo v40 tailgate light problem
Hello,
My daughter has a 2000 Volvo V40. the running lights and the brake lights on the liftgate/tailgate don't work. However, the brake lights do work. The rear quarterpanel lights do work as they should. So, here's what I've checked so far:
the bulbs are fine, the fuses are fine, the wires that run from body to tailgate are not broken. I have no voltage to the light sockets.
Help! Please.
John

you can grab the wiring diagram from volvowiringdiagrams.com to look for common junction points but I'd suspect the wires in the harness at the hinge may be at fault. BTW did you check both fuse boxes - the one under the hood and under the dash by the hood release?
Hello,
Yes. I did check all of the fuses both under the hood and to the left of the driver's leg. I also pulled the rubber grommet/protector that cove the wires from the body to the station wagon rear lift gate. They were all in good condition.
Thanks for the help!
