I need to replace my top strut mount on my 2004 V40. The part I received in the mail has only a disk sandwiched between the upper and lower plates. My Haines manual states that the rubber dust boot in the old strut mount is to be removed and put in the new mount. I never see such a sub component in the exploded views of the parts-also Volvo strut mounts always show the boot in the part, but I do note that most aftermarket mounts are like the one I just got-no boot. My mechanic will charge me full price to R&R if my parts don't match so I need to find out if there is a transferable rubber boot that does not show on a Volvo diagram.
