Default Fumes from the engine

I just changed the sparks plugs and noticed that there were oil residue on the old spark plugs themselves, but didn't pay much attention to it. Is this something I should be concerned about? Also when I put in the new plugs, a white looking fumes starts to come out from the back of the engine....it doesn't smell like motor oil or antifreeze...heck it rarely has an odor. Any suggestions? I haven started the car in about 2 months or so prior today. Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated.

If you haven't started the car in two months; I wouldn't be to concerned. Drive it a few hundred miles and see what happens.

Does anybody know if motor oil should be at the sparking point of a spark plug while it's in the engine? When I removed the old ones there were motor oil in the cylinder and some on the tips of the plug.

No it shouldn't. Could be a major problem=$$$. However was there any oil on the top of the block. Is the gasket under the oil cap pliable or hard? It can be a cheap fix for what looks like a major oil lieak.
