My son recently got a 2001 V40. When he turns the heat up, the temperature won't go back down. He says sometimes it works if he sets it at cold when he first starts the car, but isn't sure how reproducible this is. I assume this is a problem with the blend door, but I don't know enough about this car to know if it even has one. What should we be looking for?

And I don't think his AC is working. The air temp doesn't change, and there is no change in idle speed when you turn it on or off. I'll check fuses and relay (if there is one). Beyond that, any suggestions?

 

try that shim fix for your AC clutch, it's in here somewhere. heater I don't have a clue.
