heat not working and fuel gauge.
So i seem to have a few small issues.....and a big one. The heater just stopped working yesterday or the fan that is. Is there a relay/fuse or something that i should look for? The fuel gauge also doesnt work which is really annoying...i ran out of gas once because the light didnt come on. how do you go about that? I think the alternator belt is also squeaking.
thanks for the help guys....its a great car just need to solve a few issues.

RE: heat not working and fuel gauge.
This is something I could use some advice with also. The guy who had my '86 740 GLEbefore me replaced the gauge cluster with one from a 740 turbo. The speedometer, tachometer, and engine temp gauges all work, but the fuel gauge is botched and the voltmeter is also kinda screwy (turbo gauge doesn't work either.... lol). So any advice anyone has on these issues could help out both of us.

The fuel guage are pretty common to go bad on the 700 series cars.

RE: heat not working and fuel gauge.
Usually the cluster is the main problem. It is also hard to find a good used working one.
I forget what wires it is but you can pull the pump/sending unit and ohm it and make sure the reading changes to make sure the sending unit is good.
The blower motors also go bad. Remove the lower dash panel to see the blower motor and check for power to it.
