Default Help with curtain airbag

Hi every one I am new to the forum.
I have been looking for a Volvo for years and finally got a 2001 V40 1.8se.
but the air bag light has come on I have had the car diagnosed as the drivers airbag curtain faulty. I have ordered a new genuine Volvo replacement.
just wanted to now how hard it is to replace and will the light go off after its been replaced.

many thanks
Len

The SRS light in my '02 S40 came on and Volvo service said it was the right side impact sensor so they replaced it. The light came on again the next day. This time it was for the right air curtain. Volvo replaced the curtain. It seamed strange and I questioned if it could be the wire harness but Volvo service said they checked it. They replaced the curtain. The light again came on, indicating the sensor again. This time they replaced the controller and all was good. All this added up to over $3000 usd. Fortunately, I got an extended warranty thrown into the original purchase deal and it was covered.

It is unlikely that the light will go off after replacing the curtain. It will need to be reset.
