I just bought a high-mileage 1996 V40SE 2.0 and am very pleased with it - runs great. Pretty-much everything works except I have an issue with using the remote to 'lock'. The remote has two buttons only (Lock and Unlock). When Lock is pressed, the doors lock but the indicators flash for 5 minutes (yes, I timed it) instead of the '2 flashes' as per the book. I'm not sure if this is connected with the alarm system (if I have one; there's no LED on the dash when the car's locked and the horn hasn't sounded with this problem). Sorry for the obvious ignorance of my car's functions - I only have the owner's manual and have absolutely no service history. (But it was cheap!)
