Default Transmission Failure with Coolant

I have a v40 2000. I bought it with just 20k miles on it. And have had the dealer do all the service.

I am getting ready for road trip to see my Dad all of a 1000 miles. I have had minor slippage in the transmissionand two vacuam leaks. I was in total shock when the dealer told me that the transmission had coolant in it. They said the radiator has the transmission cooler run through it. And mine has major leak the cost to repair is nearly $6000.

I have had other transmission shops quote me any where from $3500-4600 to repair.

This car only has 85000miles. Its been a money pit compare to my from car of Honda.

Anyone else have this problem?

It is not all that common with the S/V 40's but it does happen.

Most Transmission shops don't have all that good of luck rebuilding them either.

Any suggestions or things to be on the look out for ? is it worth just putting a rebulit in it ?

Very broke right now so looking to prolong the life of the car.

If you catch it really early sometimes a new radiator and flushing the trans good buys some time.
A rebult might be the way to go if you need one.
If it just happened I would not drive it till you put a radiator in it and flush the tranny good.
