Tyre and rim size
Hello,
I am new here and perhaps my question is easy to answer, but i hope someone can help me.
I have V40 2014 D2. In the manual I see that suitable tyre dimensions are 205/50/R17 and 225/45/R17. However I found tyres with rims on a good price, but the size is 215/50/R17.
Since this size is not mentioned in the manual, can I still use them and would there be any problem with handling or something else?
Thanks!

Handling wise, you will see practically no difference. Above is the difference between the two tires. If you car can fit a 225 wide tire, you will not experience any rubbing as long as the rims are the same offset. As long as you have .25" radius to spare in your wheel well you are good to go.
MM below because I just realized it is a D2 and you are probably used to metric. https://tiresize.com/calculator/
my go to resource is wheel-size.com which lists all the factory specs for all wheel options. As to your question of a 215 vs a 205 - the key is the rolling circumference and the speedo error as detailed in Dingus1s post. The width different is really only 2.5mm closer to the fender and the strut (1/10th of an inch) so fit is not a problem. Most cars indicated speed is like 2-3% higher than actual ( test this by using a GPS app that shows your true road speed) so the 1-2% change in speedo error won't be noticeable.
