Default V40 2003 Remote

Being cheap, I'm trying to avoid the $400 quote for asecond key with remote.
Is eBay purchase and the 5 key turn method out of the question to program the remote? I see no alternative for the $120 key?

Thanks in advance for your advice.

Only the Dealer can program the remote.

Default RE: V40 2003 Remote

I believe someone may have recently e-mailed people on the forum saying that they can get parts.

I recently ordered a remote and only paid cost. I did have to have it programmed with software, etc, but the cost was much less than $400. More like 150. I think it depends on whether you need the metal key with the chip in it, and you need it to be cut, or not.

Also I think with the 40 series there are a bunch of different remotes. 3 button, 4 button, and flipkeys were all used. Now they use the SmartKey for the latest models as I understand it.

The only thing you have to be mindful of is that the remotes MUST come new in the package in order to work correctly. I had an old spare remote from another car that was identical to mine, and unfortunately it's not possible to reuse them I guess.
