Default V40 rear shocks

Short Q: What are the stiffest or best rear shocks that will allow me to load up my V40 without dragging my tail?

Longer story: Howdy, I'm new here. I owned a 240 wagon for 11 years. When Texas offered me $3k to take it off the road and the differential was going out along with other numerous "fix-needs", I traded it in for a Ford Focus, sold the Focus and bought a 2001 V40. It's good to be back in a Volvo.

On my 240 I had overload springs on the back and lowered springs on the front. I know there are no overload springs for the V40 (or are there?), but recently I loaded up my V40 and maxed it out. I think the shocks are old, and I'd like to replace them. What are the stiffest or best shocks that will allow me to load up without dragging my tail?

There are stiffer shocks available but I don't think any shock will do it for you as the shocks really only control damping. Springs would be the way to go. Unfortunately, I am not aware of any higher load springs. Coil-overs may be the way to go.
