1998 V70 AWD XC Rear Shock Change with Nivomat rear shocks
I have not posted much in the forum, but I use it all the time. I could not find instructions to change rear shocks on 98 V70 AWD with the Nivomat Rear Shocks. I decided to make my own for everyone else.
First you need to remove the third row or just cover if you don't have a third row.

Now you need to remove the covers that are covering up the top of your shock mount.

Now loosen up the top nut that is under the cover. I used a 18MM Deep socket with breaker bar.

Now climb under and jack your car up with your floor jack. I recommend jacking as high as you can, since your going to have to take pressure off your shocks. This is the two bolts you need to remove.

Now using a second scissor jack take pressure off your spring and the shock will fall out the bottom once you completely loosen the top bolt. It will look like this

Now just reserve the directions to put back in. Also do not look beyond your local salvage yard. I found two rear shocks for 5 dollars a piece, where on ebay the cheapest is 295.00. SCORE! GOOD LUCK!
