Hi everybody ,
Like a first timer I will need your help . My V40 2001 1.9T needs the timing belt to be changed . But I don't have the positions gage . If someone have a picture of how to instal it or explain me the positions it will be apreciate . Thank u

 

The top cover is the timing marks and the others are on the pulleys.

Thank you very much ... The timing belt is already cracked and when i,m on Drive(automatic transmission) at a stop sign the engine die andwhen i restart the car it start rightaway ...i changed the alternator , and it still does it... than i realized that the timing is cracked and may skip on gears . Hope is that .... Thanx again cause even Volvo could not find the problem .....VOLVO CANADA lol

 

timing belt rarely skips in S40/V40 with the 1.9T but replacing timing belt will need u jack up engine and remove the mount on side of engine also r/f tire have to come off. mostly when not idling is IAC motor. hope this help
