Default 2005 Volvo V50 steering wheel buttons not working

Yesterday, when i started my car the buttons on my steering wheel didn’t light up, and are not working. My horn isn’t working either. And i get error message saying anti skif service required. And my airbag service light is on. What is the reason for all this?

Sounds like a problem with your "clockspring" mechanism (the circular device that couples all the connections from the (stationary) steering column to the (rotating) steering wheel. Could be a bad ground (assuming there's probably only one ground servicing all the circuits on the wheel), and it couldn't hurt to check the fuses (might be one fuse powering those circuits, too).

Don't know if the anti-skid (sic) problem is related or not... wish I had a good schematic, but Volvo doesn't make it easy...
