2007 v50 2.0D won’t idle
Hi everyone, I have a problem with a v50 I got for free!
It will simply not idle.
I will give some info first about the complications when I got it.
The car had been left standing for 3 years at someone who would fix the idle issue but it was never done. The owner eventually got tired and told me I could have it if I went and got it myself.
Anyways, the guy who was meant to fix it had pulled a fuse for the ecu or what it is called in these “newer” cars, which I had not noticed before trying to bleed the fuel system by loosening the connection to the injectors and doing the other usual checks for a diesel.
Anyways, I got the car running but it would not idle, I had to press the accelerator pedal to keep it running so I figured it had to get a full service, all filters, oil etc. The fuel filter was therefore replaced.
The only code I had at this time was about the air mass meter, which I replaced and the code went away.
Nothing changed. I tried taking the car around the block and it ran just fine until I tried shifting down when the car simply stalled and restarted due to me lifting the clutch again. The car went in to some sort of limpmode and would not rev above 4000 rpms if I remember it correctly. The weird thing was, when I stopped, the car would idle! I let it idle for about 10 minutes and then it died. I realised it went out of limp mode. I had a code that stated something like not enough fuel flow?
So today I replaced the valve on the high pressure pump, with number 13150352, because I had seen some bubbles in the clear lines after it stalled. No difference.
To clarify, when I say it won’t idle, it idles for a second, drops 100 rpm’s, goes back to normal then just stall.
What might the problem be? Is it some air pocket? Is it the EGR?
