2007 V50 2.4i Transmission issues.
I am in Los Angeles and looking for someone that can fix a Volvo transmission. The last guy that looked at it said it needed a new transmission without really doing much. I have read enough in this forum to believe it is likely "a shift solenoid or valve body component" or something. So I am writing to ask if anyone can suggest a mechanic in LA that can run diagnostics and fix a Volvo transmission. Thank you for your help.
A lot of shops (and maybe all dealerships) will suggest replacing a transmission when it really only needs something much less drastic to restore it to its original operation.
The first thing I'd suggest is to have the codes read on the car, and see if it's trying to tell you what's wrong with the tranny.
The second thing I'd suggest is to let us know what kind of symptoms you're experiencing, as there's no way to give you meaningful advice on what we have now.
Also, it's helpful to know the mileage on the car, and any service that's been performed on the transmission.
