Default Additional power source/cigarette lighter in rear of car?

Hello all!

I'm hoping to add an additional power source or more specifically a cigarette lighter in the rear of my 2005 v50.

Basically, what I want to do is place a Griffin iTrip FM tuner as close to the antenna in the rear window as possible. I'd like to hide the tuner somewhere inside the paneling then run (hidden) 15ft USB and audio cables to the front of the car.

Is there anywhere safe I can patch in a female cigarette lighter jack? Or could I tap into the existing cigarette lighter in the center console? I've considered getting a cigarette lighter "extension cord" but I'd like to have as little of this setup exposed as possible.

This is what I'd like to install:

Thank you in advance!

Is there a way I can run something into the fuse box under the glove box?

I'm thinking of burying an FM modulator beside the antenna amplifier in my V50 as well.

My Haynes book has a wiring diagram for the "infotainment system," and I hope to tap the antenna amplifier's power supply for the FM modulator and a Bluetooth-to-audio dongle.

Is there any possible concern with using this power supply in this manner?

hi

there is already a power feed in the boot for a *** socket but it is always on so you would have to turn it off.

you also have the amp on the other side so could maybe use the power feed for that if it is swiched.

In the event, I used the power tap in the right rear. I jumpered it to the fuse for the forward 12V sockets, so it is off when the key is removed. That fuse is intended for various trailer accessory modules, so, if your car doen't have such modules, you can "rewire" without problems.
