air conditioning runs and cools fine under normal conditions; however, during a long idle, or stop and go driving, it will intermittently stop cooling. in order for it to begin cooling again, the air conditioner must be turned off for awhile and turned on again. is this an indication of low refridgerent (spelling?) or could it be something else?

 

I will bet the compressor clutch needs to be reshimmed.

The clutch needs to be replaced, I am in Tampa.

 

The clutches can be reshimmed instead of being replaced.
