Default changing front and rear pads

hello everyone,

i love fixing cars and can execute as long as i have a general set of instructions on how to do things.

next step for me is replace my brake pads and am wondering if anyone has some tips/tricks on doing so. the front is fairly straight forward, and i heard the rear can be a bit more complicated.

i understand the general process, but am worried about removing the bolts for the calipers as i have heard that they typically need to go clockwise/counter clockwise depending on which side of the car you're on?? and something along the lines of i need to rotate and push in the piston when working on the rear?

any tips/tricks, referrals to other links would be appreciated.
