The User manual on my 07 V50 say NOT to use any gasoline additives. Can I put my own injector cleaner in without hurting anything? Perhaps Volvo only wants to charge you for hooking you up to some machine to do the same thing, not unlike their Castrol oil recommendation (I am sure they cut a deal with Castrol or maybe Ford owns Castrol). So can I put my own cleaner in with a tank of gas?

Techron is an excellent idea once or twice a year.
It is not snake oil, which I would guard against using.
