Hi everyone,

I am posting this thread in sheer desperation. I will begin the saga:

About 3 weeks ago I was driving and the car begin to shut down slowly - lights, windows, radio, breaks and I got a warning message saying power system failure. I was towed home and after getting an auto electrician out I was advised it was the alternator - so I had a new one fitted 250.00. The car seemed fine for about 2 weeks and then at the weekend I tried to start it and again nothing there at all but the lights on the dash came on and the lights flickered-we tried to push it down a hill to start but nothing. We thought perhaps it was the battery as orig one still on, 130.00 quid later the car started and we thought we had sussed it.

Tonight after leaving the car for about an hour I got in it and again nothing - I kept trying like you do and the lights on the dash came on eventually, I had parked on a hill so got it going but after driving for a good half an hour I had to stop again (when I turned the key to turn off the engine did not turn off, so I turned to on position again and off again and it turned off this time) and then after only 5 mins it would not start again - no lights on dash this time.

I have not got a clue what to do now - should I call the auto electrician out again or have towed to my garage.

Any advice or ideas as to what the problem is would be very greatfully received. I have loved this car but I am slowly running out of confidence with it!!!!!
