Default Help Volvo v50 will not start sometimes???

On 3 occasions my 2008 V50 2.0l diesel has failed to start. It turns over and fires but instantly dies. After many attempts it finally fires and holds it's revs and all is fine it runs perfectly starting fine the next time I try. These 3 occasions have been over the last month or so. It seems to have taken longer each time before it starts and not sure if its coincidence or not but its only happened when I have been driving when it's wet. Any suggestions as I know when I take it to the garage it will start fine! Help would be much appreciated!!!!

Hi, I have a 2009 v50 2.0d that I have only had two months. I've had the exact same issues as you for the past two weeks. It's in the garage as we speak as it refused to start today. Will let you know the outcome

Default Help Volvo v50 2.0D will not start sometimes???

I have a 2007 v50 2.0d with the same problem (the car refuses to start. It turns over and fires but instantly dies) when the car is parked outside in winter season. An authorized Volvo checked the car and found an error.
The error code is ECM-0602, so they loaded the new software in the ECU, but the car refused again to start. They suggested me to change the ECU which is an expensive operation. Any suggestion for me? Thanks.

Ok so I got my v50 back from the dealer yesterday after them having it for 3 days! They say they replaced the throttle bodies?? And now the car (so far) starts fine. Luckily they covered this under the warranty so I have no idea what the parts and labour costs would have been.
