Default How to live a few days with a dead alternator

Hi All,

As the title says, my V50 T5 alternator is dead and unfortunately, there is some delay for getting the new one...
We need the car for about ten kilometers per day. Would you think feasible using this car a few days more by charging the battery 3-4 hours per day ? (I have a 5A 12v charger)

Thanks for any advice!

You can try, but I would have a plan for if it stalls out.

How about a test run in the driveway first?

I drove a car with the alternator belt off over 100 miles one night in the dark. However, I think some cars are more voltage sensitive than others, and they're getting more finicky all the time.
