My 2005 V50...while I mumble weakly..."please help"
Love this car, the look, the mileage, etc.....HATE the fact that my Volvo mechanic cannot figure out why red Urgent Engine Svc dash code will not go away...now the car intermittently will not stay running and when running, runs poorly-almost like the timing is off/gas not getting to engine enough-THEN out of the blue she runs fine a different day(?!@#?$!)
1-Accel pedal replaced due to codes-was faulty
2-long term fuel trim upper limit code keeps coming back.
3-fuel system relay replaced
4-air mass meter replaced...did not matter (was-and still remains- as high as 60% off from calculated)(i.e.meter or sensor; mechanic says they are the same~~though Swedish auto parts website shows 2 separate units-1:air mass meter, 2) air mass sensor for my model/no turbo)...my mechanic/not a dealer has all the computer reading equipment (they say)...but I do not understand why this problem cannot be resolved.........does anyone out there in this big beautiful world have a direction they might point me in....had a similar problem?!?!...signed, Nearly Deranged Over This Car (!)

lmao-now car ran fine
All codes are gone, I did not reset them. Car ran fine yesterday, after not running at all the day before. Check engine light came on this morning, would not run well, took the other car to work. It's going into my Volvo mechanic again, and he should have plenty of codes to work with -----with any Grace from God this will be resolved, and at a reasonable price -

Well, to close this one out.....(sorry, got busy with work) $700 bucks later, I am pleased with my car. Mechanic had it for 2 weeks, and found:
1-accel pedal replaced (no charge, was new 6 mos ago/under warranty)
2-Complete computer update
3-leaking oil filter housing air hose (hard plastic/cracked)
-------------NO MORE CODES/LIGHTS~~~she runs like a dream !
...did I mention the CV axle was replaced, front rotors/ceram brake pads - still doing well $wise tho, as I am 2k under bluebook value with orig price+repairs to date.
