Default Newbie help v50 failed MOT

Hi everyone,

Sorry my first post is a cry for help but I haven't had time to get posting beforehand....

So my partners 2.0 v50 failed on numerous things. It's our first MOT since having the car and we could really do with saving money because we have a newborn and money is tight.

To reduce costs I'm going to do the work myself but I could do with some advice.

Firstly - the parking brake ( below requirements) and rear nearside brake (binding) and rear offside parking (recording little or no effect) have all been flagged up. I have no idea how the volvos rear brake system is set up so any help would be great. About a month ago the handbrake suddenly went loose and we have to have the lever really high up. I adjusted the adjusting nut and it made it better but now I think something else has happened??

Secondly - anti roll bar linkage, excessive play in ball joint. Iv done a few drop links before so this should be simple enough as long as I don't need any special tools etc??

Thirdly - headlamp aim is too low. How are they adjusted?

Any help would honestly be truly appreciated as I'm going in blind here to save some precious money...

Thankyou
