Does anyone know if it possible to add a 12V outlet in the baggage area as a dealer or after-market thing? Consideirng buying a specific V50 and wondering about that....

Anything is possible if you are willing to do it yourself or willing to pay someone to do it for you. I wouldn't expect any takers at the dealership. If you don't want to dink around with it yourself, ask a custom stereo shop or trailer hitch dealer to wire one up for you. It should only take someone about 30-45 minutes tops. If youplan on doing the work yourself, be sure to run aproper gauge wire to handle whatever load you intend on powering.

May be a little late to answer the original query, but anyone doing a retrospective search for the answer should go here
http://vccs.volvocars.se/accessories/ii/search.aspx

Type in the model and year and you will get a list of accessories and officialVolvoinstructions how to install them.
