00' V70 A/C works part time
I recently installed a new condenser(last year) and had my system re-charged. The A/C will work for about 10 minutes, then start blowing humid warm air. I shut the A/C off for about 20 minutes then try again and it does the same-works for like 10 minutes then starts blowing hot air. Any clues to what could be happening?
Thanks,
David

i bet it is your compressor clutch heating up and not working. if you tap it quickly when not working then it needs a clutch or a whole compressor.
be careful when taping the clutch you need to tap it and move out of the way (when the car is running and AC on). i guess you can tap it when it is off too.

I have a 2001 V70 with 134k miles with a sensor problem. My air conditioner comes and goes also. Sometimes the fan runs when I haven't even used it.
This is what the machanic wrote when my car broke down:
Scan Computer System for Codes. Had Code PO305 # 5 Cylinder Miss Fire.PO128 Coolant Temp Code PO032. Bank One Sensor One Oxygen Sensor Heater Code Replace # 5 Coil for Miss. Test Drive for Miss Ok at This Time.
This is what he did:
Ignition Coil E371 $93.90. Shop Supplies $4.70. Labor 97.50.
That was exactly 2 weeks ago. Now the same problem.
Please can anyone tell me what this means.

PO128 Coolant Temp Code that i would guess to be the ECT (engine coolant temp sensor), and needs to be replaced. as far as the ac. it could be a compressor, and or a sensor up by the firewall, disconnect the sensor and take a paper clip and jump it, it should activate the ac system.
note: i am not responsable for any damage done to their car if they try this.
