Default 01 V70 steering issue

I have a 2001 V70 (purchased new) and recently have noticed an odd annoying problem with the steering. I am noticing that I tend to do a lot of left/right steering wheel movement (similar to driving older cars where you constantly have to compensate to keep the car going straight). This is really noticeable when I am starting to accelerate forward from a stop – I usually have to turn the steering wheel left/right a few times to get it going straight. I recently had my tires rotated and complete alignment. The alignment was done so badly that I had to take the car to my Volvo dealer to have it realigned. I had the Volvo dealer check the front-end and they said all is well. The car appears to be aligned properly: no drifting (when I take my hands off the wheel) and the steering wheel is dead center. I recently drove a 2004 V70 and was shocked at how tight the steering was – absolutely none of the steering compensation that I currently experience. Does anyone have any thoughts on this issue? Could there be something in the steering linkage that could be the culprit? I am tired of thinking I am driving a 58 lincoln – as far as the steering is concerned. Thanks for any comment on this issue…..

Was the front end fully inspected?
Could be a bad Tie Rod,Lower control arm bushing,Steeering rack,Or a fluid flow problem.
Do you hear any new noises?

had frontend allignment done by tire company. Was rechecked/realligned by Volvo dealer. Was told that everything looks fine. I do not hear any strange noises or anything odd about the front end - other than it feels light and sloppy on center (way too light). I only seemed to notice this the past couple of weeks.
