1997 V70 R AWD Prop shaft problem
Hi there.
I have a 1997 V70 R AWD with a knocking prop shaft. The universal joint is knocking on the underside of the car when I turn a corner (15mph or less).
Does anyone know whether it is possible to remove the prop shaft and still run the car while I wait for the parts to repair this arrive?
Thanks in advance, Lee

Yeah, and unless you live in the mountains or in the snowbelt you may want to save yourself some $$$ and just leave the drive shaft out and turn it into a FWD 'R'. BTW, unless you're in Europe (your profile doesn't indicate) there's no such thing as a '97 V70R...
Thanks for getting back to me. I'll remove it this week then, the banging is annoying.[:@]

I'm from Scotland so its defo a 1997 model. My V5 clearly says V70 R AWD 1st reg 26th Sept 1997.
I HPi'd it before I bought it too.

In the States all model year 97 cars were still 850s. Our first S/V70s were model year 98.....
You may find that you like the way cars drives better as FWD....best of luck with the driveshaft extraction...
