I am going to finally replace my front prop shaft cv joint. I need to know what tools i need to make my life easier as i do this. I would imagine that i need to get a hold of a two jaw puller and snap ring pliers. What type/size of socket do i need? Torx or allen? Am i going to need to get a breaker bar? swivels? Any other tools I may want to have with me? I appreciate the feedback. I am away for school and all my tools are back home and will need to buy/barrow tools to do this and would rather have everything i need before i start. Thank you

 

Just replaced my cv left & right all you need is a metric set of sockets 10 to 18 and a socket to fit the nut for the axle can't remember which one(20 something). I used the 2nd largest in my axle nut kit .The left side was a snap so I will walk you through the right. remove tire, calaper with bracket, rowter, axle nut, two bolts that hold strut to knuckle, and outter tie-rod. Put the nut on the axle so the top of the nut is flush with the top of axle. Pull the knuckle out making sure axle is out of trany and give the nut a good wack with a 2 lb hammer--this is were it gets hard--if the axle is stuck in hub and barring assembly which should be replaced at this time, you may need to pull the lower control arm and have axle pressed out or if you have an air hammer you may be able to drive it out with that. Watch for fluid loss when pulling shaft from trany.
