Default 1998 V70 GLT Suspension

Hi All,

I'm the proud owner of a new (to me) 1998 V70 GLT. It needs a new suspension, and I've read that OEM is the way to go. I see several kits available, some include just the struts, others include the mounts, seats, etc. Here is a link I found that lists several kits, though I'm open to suggestions on suppliers : 1998 Volvo V70 Suspension | FCPEuro

Should I get the "Comprehensive kit" for $411.55? It looks like it includes the struts themselves and some other bushings and rubber parts that could likely go bad. I understand this isn't a fun job, so I'd rather replace everything that may need it while I've got it apart. That said, I'm not made of money and don't want to replace things that will likely last until I replace everything again.

Any advice?

Mark

Whatever you do make sure you buy OEM VOLVO XC90 spring seats or IPD HD spring seats, all the others will fail prematurely
Same for the strut bearing plates.
If you choose to replace those the same applies... OEM VOLVO only
You do not want to do this job twice in 10K miles!

Shocks and struts are your choice. If you want the same ride use OEM Sachs

Thanks for the reply JRL. I'll probably go with all-OEM then. It's a family wagon and I'm more picky about everything fitting and lasting than I am about tweaking the ride.

Do you think it's worth getting a comprehensive kit, replacing everything? I want to change anything that would likely go in the next 50k (or more) while I've got it all apart.
