Timing belt went as a result of a bad tensioner. All is fine with the engine, but I will need a new head with gaskets and all, tensioner, oil change, etc...

I was quoted a price of $2200 to fix it. Sound reasonable to you guys??

I probably could, but I really don't know what I would be looking for. I would not know the difference between a good one or an junk one. I know how to do basic work like brakes, maintenance, etc., but I have never done any engine work.

 

does your engine has cvvt?? if so, i don't recommend u to do it yourself
