Hi guys,

I'm a newbie after some info/advice if possible.

I have just bought my father in law's 2000 V70 2.5 diesel with 110k on the clock for my wife, I figured it would be a good solid, safe & reliable car for her and the kids, and it was an absolute bargain !
The car is immaculate, he had it serviced every year even if he only did 3000 miles, and it's had anything it ever needed.

The main thing I've noticed is that it seems quite slow & noisy. Don't get me wrong, it's nice to drive, and once you're cruising it seems to pull quite well, but from a standing start it pulls off and sounds like a tractor even though the log book shows it's 140bhp.
I'm comparing it to the 130bhp Passat tdi that I'm currently driving, they're of a similar size and weight, but the Volvo is nowhere near as quick or quiet as the VW.

Can anybody tell me if the noise/power issue is normal for this car, or if there is any way to increase the power.
I don't know anybody else with the same model, so I have nothing to compare it with.

I have noticed that the fuel economy is absolutely brilliant for a car of it's size and engine size.
