Default 2005 V70 speaker sizes

Hello, I'm Jeremy. I'm new to this forum. I just baught a V70 with 140k miles on it and got a really good deal. I absoulty love this car and immediately got to work replacing plugs and coil packs as the car was missfireing when I baught it that's partly why I got such a good deal on it. I've noticed some of the speakers are blown from the previous owner and would like to replace them with something a little heartier. Can anyone tell me what speakers are in this car? I could tear into it and measure them but would like to only have to take it apart once If possible. I did some Google research and found conflicting results. Any idea on where I should have looked? Thanks in advance!

Generic speakers will not be the correct shape - it just takes a few minutes to get a door panel off - you might want to pull a panel and see what I am talking about. Volvo has 3 different sets of speakers depending on the sound system installed - with either what they call "40, 50 or 100 watt" speakers. Here's a "40w" front door speaker. Note it's not flat so that it will seal against the door panel correctly and the mounting points are not symmetrical like a generic speaker is. Perhaps if someone made adapter plates generic would work. The speakers are riveted to the door.

I would like to add some input here since I replaced the speakers on my 06 S60 with a similar (if not the same) setup as shown above. I drilled out the rivets and removed the remains from the door panel. I used the bracket from the OE speaker to get a matching aftermarket speaker to fit in it's place. I screwed the aftermarket speaker to the plastic bracket then riveted the bracket back in place in the door. Pay attention to depth of the speaker as it is critical. It's not bad to do with a little handy work.

Like hoonk said, the door panels come off very easily.
