This will be the car's first oil change since I bought it, and I noticed that it was a spin-on type of filter. From some of the things I've been reading, people have said that these cars use a cartridge type filter? The car is a 98 V70 T-5 Auto. Did these come from the factory with spin-on or cartridge type filters?

Spin on filters. The cartridge filters started in 1999.
