Default 98' V70 "service" engine light question

1998 V70 wagon, "service" engine light (not check engine light) comes on at start up. Question is there a way to "reset" the light myself? I'm sure there is some write up's in here about it, but I'm at work and limited to internet time so I can't do the research.Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

You need a special tool to reset it.

Mine comes on on all three of my cars. I try to see how far I can go before it turns off. Never made it more than about 2 miles. Some of us are just easily entertained. I asked the shop I used to do the fuel pump for $600 to reset the service light, and they said only if they do an oil change.

Special tool? Can I get one on ebay? Oh well, I guess I'll just wait till the next oil change and have the shop re-set it. In the meantime, it's not a problem/ creating a problem is it? Just kind of a heads up reminder right??? I hope. Thanks

It means nothing. You just learn to ignore it. Once they reset it, it will come back on again in 5,000 miles. It's telling you that you need an oil change.
