Assurance Required !!!!!
Just about to start out on my own in business and after having a company car for 25 years (allways owning my own car aswell) im a bit worried, it may be a bit of a compulsive disorder,
Ive got a 2005 V70s 2.4 its covered 74K with fullVolvoservice history it is in exceptionally clean condition and with the private plate on it its been mistaken for brand new, fuel consumption is great about 31mpg average
im worried about something going wrong with it and costing a fortune to repair and wondering would I be better off with a smaller later car with less mileage such as a vectra or astra what do you guysthink, I know there will be some biased opinions here but its worth asking as you guys will know the reliability issues if any thanks Rob

Do a compression test.
If anything does go wrong, Astra's and Vectra's are easy to come by. If the volvo dies and needs an expensive repair you can go and pick up one of the other cars the same day. I just replaced the cylinder head on a volvo I got from my friend with 143,000 miles and I'm expecting it to reach at least 250K plus.
As far as reliability goes I don't think you could ask to be in a better car.

I changed outthe motor on my 98 V70 T5 at 280,000, because I was doing performance upgrades that would be too risky for a motor with those miles. It was still running strong when I pulled its plug. My Stage III is sweet.
